After the inspection roads in Slovakia, Rene Fasel – President of International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) – expressed satisfaction with both hockey venues in Slovakia – Bratislava’s Ondrej Nepela Arena and Košice’s Steel Arena (Ladislav Trojak Arena). As Fasel said, he is confident “that the tournament will be a high-level”.
Rene Fasel’s visit to Slovakia started on Tuesday in Košice, where he visited the Steel Arena. He was especially satified with the conditions this arena will provide to the players. As he highlighted, “in Steel Arena is especially great dressing rooms”.
The IIHF inspection continued on Wednesday in Bratislava, where Mr. Fasel, together with Slovakia’s Prime Minister Robert Fico and President of Slovak Ice Hockey Federation Juraj Široký saw the progress of reconstruction works of the Ondrej Nepela Arena. Fasel summarized his visit by saying: “As a representative of the IIHF, I am pleased that in 2006 we assigned to the organization for the 2011 IIHF World Championship Slovakia – hockey country”.
